How does equipment crafting work in RoK? How many blueprints do I need?

Gear is crafted at the Blacksmith from a blueprint plus materials and gold. You need 30 identical blueprint fragments to make one blueprint. Materials come in four types: leather, iron ore, ebony and animal bone. Four of one material combine into the next rarity, up to legendary. Higher rarity gear needs higher rarity materials, and gold costs climb fast at legendary.

I'm F2P, what should I craft first?

  • Pick one main march (usually the troop type your top commanders use) and gear only that march first.
  • Fill all six slots with cheap green and blue pieces, then move to a full epic set before you touch legendary.
  • Don't build one random legendary piece early, it eats materials that could have upgraded several slots.
  • Only start gearing a second troop type once the main march is mostly legendary.

Best cheap cavalry gear for F2P?

The usual budget build is the Windswept pieces (war helm, breastplate, gloves, boots) with a decent epic weapon and legs. Windswept gives a 2-piece attack bonus and a 4-piece march speed bonus, which suits cav that run around the map. Later you swap pieces for the cavalry legendaries one at a time, starting with the weapon or helm.

What's the endgame cavalry set?

Most heavy cav builds use the KvK Conqueror's Helm, a top attack weapon (Pride of the Khan is common), Hope Cloak on the chest, Navar's Control gloves and Ash of the Dawn legs. The Hellish Wasteland set is the classic cavalry legendary set with health, counterattack and cavalry defense bonuses at 2, 4 and 6 pieces. Spenders often keep a strong placeholder weapon until they get one with a special talent.

Best infantry equipment set?

Infantry gear leans on health and defense. The Eternal Empire legendary set is the infantry set (defense, march speed and infantry attack bonuses at 2, 4 and 6 pieces). Popular pieces include the Conqueror's Helm, Hammer of the Sun and Moon, Hope Cloak and Karuak's Humility for health. F2P players commonly run the Windswept set plus Gatekeeper's Shield and Karuak's Humility.

Best archer equipment set?

Archers want attack and skill damage. The Dragon's Breath legendary set is the archer set, giving attack, skill damage and archer health at 2, 4 and 6 pieces. Many players mix 4 archer set pieces with two defensive pieces (often from the Revival set) because archers are fragile. A strong attack weapon or the KvK helm comes in later for spenders.

What is a special talent on equipment and is it worth chasing?

When you craft a piece there is a chance it rolls a special talent tied to a troop type. If the commander wearing it has that talent (for example Cavalry), the piece's stats go up by 30%. It is a big boost, so for your best legendary pieces it is worth trying for. Crafting probabilities are shown in-game, and players report a pity where a piece is guaranteed a talent within a few attempts.

Should I dismantle gear to re-roll for a special talent?

Many players do this on key legendary pieces: craft, and if it misses the talent, dismantle and craft again. Dismantling gives the materials back so you mainly lose gold and time. Do it only on pieces you will keep long term, not on transition gear.

What is Iconic equipment and how do I awaken it?

Iconic is an upgrade on top of legendary gear. Almost any legendary piece can be awakened, except the Trial of the Lost Kingdom weapon and gathering gear. Awakening adds flat bonuses to base troop attack, defense and health. It needs your kingdom to be in Season 1 or later. Iconic is permanent and the spent materials are not refunded.

How many Iconic levels are there and what do they cost?

There are five Iconic tiers. Iconic I costs Iconic Crystals plus gold. Tiers II to V need extra copies of that piece's blueprints, equipment materials and gold, so going high is very expensive. When you move up a tier, the piece keeps its talent and refinement and your set bonus stays intact.

Which piece should I use my first Iconic Crystal on?

The common advice is accessories first, because their Iconic bonus boosts health for all units no matter what you send. After that go for the weapon and gloves of your main march. Don't spread crystals around randomly, they are scarce.

Do Iconic stats change with season?

Yes. The number of Iconic bonuses unlocked depends on your kingdom's season, growing as the kingdom moves from early seasons into Season of Conquest. Gear with a matching special talent gets an extra boost to Iconic stats. The stats update on their own when your kingdom changes season or you migrate.

Where do I get Iconic Crystals?

They are rare and come mostly from specific seasonal events and KvK related shops, not from daily play. Expect only a handful over a long time, so plan which pieces get them.

Where do F2P players get equipment materials?

  • Blacksmith passive material production (pick the type you need most)
  • Daily objectives and the free VIP weekly chest
  • Sunset Canyon and Lost Canyon shops
  • Barbarian forts and keeps
  • Events like More Than Gems, Esmeralda and seasonal or KvK rewards

Legendary materials are the bottleneck, so save them for your main march.

Is it worth making my boots legendary?

Usually last. Boots and some slots give a small gain going from epic to legendary compared with weapon, helm or chest. Finish the weapon, helm and chest of your main march first, then gloves and legs, boots last.

What is the Holy Knight's Treasure (egg) event?

It is the egg event where you smash eggs or chests with hammers. You get a free hammer or attempt each day and can buy more with gems. Every egg gives random rewards and there are milestone rewards at set numbers of opens, including blueprint fragment chests and equipment material choice chests. It is one of the better gem events for gear because those milestones let you pick exactly what you need.

Should I spend gems on the egg event as F2P?

Only if gear is your bottleneck and you can reach the milestone tiers that give choice chests, since that is where the value is. Opening a few eggs and stopping short of a milestone is poor value. If you need commanders or speedups more, save gems for those events instead.

How does Hunt for History work?

It is an excavation event where you use hammers to dig tiles on a grid, floor by floor. Before each new floor you pick an ultimate reward for that floor, and digging the right tile wins it. Floors that are multiples of 5 offer better ultimate reward choices. Hammers come from event quests and can also be bought with gems.

What should I pick as the ultimate reward in Hunt for History?

For gear, pick legendary blueprint or legendary material options for pieces of your main march, since those are hard to get elsewhere. Save harder floors with better choices for the item you are missing most. If you don't need gear right now, a commander sculpture choice can be better value.

Egg event or Hunt for History, which is better for equipment?

Both are good gear sources when you hit their milestones or ultimate rewards. The egg event gives broad material and blueprint choice chests, while Hunt for History lets you target specific big rewards each floor. Many players put free hammers in both and only spend gems in whichever lines up with the piece they need right now.

Which accessories should I craft?

Accessories are expensive, so make them after your main armor. Ring of Doom is widely seen as a top all-round pick, and Horn of Fury is strong for rage-heavy marches and rallies. Defensive accessories like Scolas' Lucky Coin and Vengeance are often used on garrison commanders.

Should garrison and rally commanders use different gear than open field?

Yes. Rally leaders run the offensive set for their troop type with a rage or attack accessory. Garrison captains want health and defense pieces plus defensive accessories. Open field commanders usually mix attack with enough health to survive long fights.

What is the best equipment for Qin Shi Huang (archer) in open field during KvK 3?

Qin is a skill-damage archer, so build around the Dragon's Breath 4-piece bonus (+3% Skill Damage) and fill the other two slots with the stronger KvK pieces.

  • Common endgame setup: Dragon's Breath Plate, Vambraces, Tassets and Boots, plus The Hydra's Blast (weapon) and Ancestral Mask of Night (helmet). That keeps the 2-piece (+3% Troop Attack) and 4-piece (+3% Skill Damage) bonuses.
  • Full 6-piece Dragon's Breath also adds +5% Archer Health. It's a good stage before you have the KvK weapon and helmet.
  • Alternatives seen: The Milky Way in the chest slot for health, or Tassets of the War God in the legs slot for attack.
  • Accessories: Pendant of Eternal Night and Ring of Doom.
  • Formation: Wedge, which is the skill-damage formation.
  • Pairing: Zhuge Liang is the top partner. Yi Seong-Gye is the budget option.

Which gold (legendary) equipment piece should I craft first for Qin Shi Huang, the chest?

Yes, craft the Dragon's Breath Plate first.

  • It gives +11% Archer Health and +5% Cavalry Defense. Health is the most valuable archer stat, and nothing else in the Dragon's Breath set gives Archer Health.
  • It stays in the endgame build. The usual final setup replaces the Dragon's Breath Bow and Helm with The Hydra's Blast and Ancestral Mask of Night, but keeps the Plate, Vambraces, Tassets and Boots.
  • The Bow does give defence, not attack: +20% Archer Defense, +5% Infantry Health and +5% Cavalry Health. It's still a big stat line, but it's the first piece you replace later.
  • After the Plate, go Tassets (+11% Archer Attack), then Vambraces and Boots to reach the 4-piece Skill Damage bonus.
  • In practice, blueprints are the limit. Craft whichever Dragon's Breath blueprint you have, because any 2 pieces already give +3% Troop Attack.

What is the best equipment set for an infantry march in open field?

Eternal Empire is the infantry set.

  • 2 pieces: +3% Troop Defense
  • 4 pieces: +10% March Speed
  • 6 pieces: +5% Infantry Attack

The full six pieces are a solid baseline: Shield, Gold Helm, Plate, Vambraces, Greaves and Sturdy Boots of the Eternal Empire.

Most players later swap the weapon and helmet for the KvK pieces and keep 4 Eternal Empire pieces for the march speed bonus:

  • Hammer of the Sun and Moon: +25% Infantry Attack, +5% Archer Health
  • Helm of the Conqueror: +15% Infantry Defense, +8% Cavalry Health

Other infantry legendaries you see mixed in:

  • Hope Cloak (chest): +12% Infantry Defense
  • Eternal Night (legs): +12% Infantry Defense

What is the best equipment set for a cavalry march in open field?

Hellish Wasteland is the cavalry set.

  • 2 pieces: +3% Troop Health
  • 4 pieces: +3% Counterattack Damage
  • 6 pieces: +5% Cavalry Defense

The weapon is Lance of the Hellish Wasteland (+20% Cavalry Attack).

Endgame cavalry builds rarely run all six. The usual mix is:

  • Sacred Dominion (weapon): +25% Cavalry Attack
  • Pride of the Khan (helmet): +15% Cavalry Defense, +8% Archer Health
  • Hellish Wasteland pieces in the other slots, usually the Heavy Armor (+11% Cavalry Health) and Boots (+7.5% Cavalry Health), so you keep at least the 2-piece bonus

Other legendaries often mixed in:

  • Navar's Control (gloves): +8% Cavalry Health
  • Shadow Legion's Retribution (chest): +12% Cavalry Attack
  • Ash of the Dawn (legs): +12% Cavalry Health

When do I unlock the Blacksmith and what does it do? (forge, equipment building)

The Blacksmith unlocks at City Hall 16. It does three jobs:

  • Forge: craft equipment from materials, gold and a complete blueprint.
  • Materials: produces equipment materials over time from a queue you set. Keep the queue full, it is free materials every day.
  • Combine and dismantle materials between rarities.

Refining (for special talents) and Iconic awakening of legendary gear are also done here.
Tip: always queue the material you are short of for your next legendary piece, not whatever is first in the list.

How do I upgrade equipment materials? (combine materials, 4 to 1, break down materials)

Materials come in five rarities: Common, Advanced, Elite, Epic, Legendary. In the Blacksmith you combine 4 of one rarity into 1 of the next, so 1 Legendary material = 256 Commons.

  • You can also go the other way: dismantle 1 material into 4 of the rarity below (costs gold, Commons cannot be broken down).
  • The four types are Iron Ore, Leather, Ebony and Animal Bone. Animal Bone is only used for gathering gear and some low accessories, so never waste it on troop gear plans.
  • Combining is free of loss, so hoard low materials and combine when you are ready to craft, rather than crafting epic gear you will replace.

How much does a legendary piece cost to craft? (gold and materials per legendary)

Costs are in Legendary materials plus gold and 1 complete blueprint (30 fragments):

  • Set weapons (Lance of the Hellish Wasteland, Shield of the Eternal Empire, Dragon's Breath Bow): 90 materials, 20M gold.
  • KvK weapons (Sacred Dominion, Hammer of the Sun and Moon, The Hydra's Blast): 90 materials, 30M gold, with 70 in the main type (Leather, Iron Ore, Ebony).
  • KvK helmets (Pride of the Khan, Helm of the Conqueror, Ancestral Mask of Night): 60 materials, 30M gold.
  • Set helmets and chests: 60 materials, 20M. Gloves and boots: 40 materials.
  • Legendary accessories: about 120 materials and 50M gold each.

The main material decides the troop type: Leather for cavalry, Iron Ore for infantry, Ebony for archers.

Where do I get legendary blueprints? (blueprint fragments, how to get blueprint)

Each piece needs one complete blueprint, made from 30 fragments of that exact blueprint. To see where a specific one drops, open the Blacksmith forge tab and tap the blueprint icon on that item: the game lists its sources.
Common sources:

  • Sunset Canyon and Lost Canyon shops
  • Event equipment choice chests (Holy Knight's Treasure, Hunt for History, archaeology style events)
  • Ceroli Crisis, Shadow Legion and Dark Stalker type events
  • KvK and Season of Conquest rewards and shops for the KvK pieces
  • Osiris League shop

Since late 2026 the Canyon Shop also sells Timeless Amber fragments. Pick one target piece and funnel all choice chests into it rather than spreading fragments.

How does equipment refining work? (refine for special talent, refine progress 25/50/75/100)

Refining is the reliable way to get a special talent on a legendary piece without recrafting it. Each refine attempt costs 1 blueprint, gold and materials (roughly half the crafting materials, same gold as crafting). Every attempt adds 25, 50, 75 or 100 points; at 100 the piece gets its special talent.

  • From 0, a single attempt has an 11% chance to finish at once.
  • On average you need about 2.6 attempts from zero, and never more than 4.
  • Lower starting progress gives bigger jumps; from 75 every attempt is exactly +25.

The talent only gives +30% stats when the commander has the matching talent tree, so refine the pieces your main commanders actually wear.

What is the Special Talent Equipment Reset? (change special talent, reassign talent with gems)

It is an event feature that lets you spend Gems to reset the special talent on one Legendary equipment piece and reassign it to a different talent. It was added in spring 2026 together with a limited-time dismantle event that refunds all materials of one Legendary piece for Gems.
Use it when a piece is perfect for your new main commander but its talent matches a tree you no longer play, for example moving a piece from a cavalry commander to an integration commander. It is not permanent in the menu, so plan ahead and keep gems for it if you know you are switching mains.

Can I get my materials back from a legendary I no longer use? (dismantle legendary refund)

Normal dismantling does not return everything, so do not dismantle a legendary just to free materials. Two better options:

  • Wait for the limited-time dismantle event: for Gems it returns all materials of one Legendary piece.
  • If you only want a different special talent, use the Special Talent Equipment Reset event instead of dismantling and recrafting.

If you must dismantle normally, never do it to a piece with Iconic levels, the awakening cost is only partly refunded.

Which KvK helmet is for which troop? (Pride of the Khan, Helm of the Conqueror, Ancestral Mask of Night)

All three are legendary helmets crafted for 60 materials and 30M gold:

  • Pride of the Khan: cavalry. +15% Cavalry Defense, +8% Archer Health.
  • Helm of the Conqueror: infantry. +15% Infantry Defense, +8% Cavalry Health.
  • Ancestral Mask of Night: archers. +15% Archer Attack, +8% Infantry Attack.

They beat every set helmet for their troop by a wide margin, so most players craft the KvK helmet and KvK weapon and fill the other four slots with set pieces for the 2 and 4 piece bonuses. Their Iconic V skill (Shattering Strike) also boosts the next skill after a basic attack.

Are the KvK weapons worth it over the set weapons? (Sacred Dominion vs Lance, Hammer of the Sun and Moon vs Shield, Hydra's Blast vs Dragon's Breath Bow)

Yes, they are the best weapon for each troop and the usual first big upgrade:

  • Sacred Dominion: +25% Cavalry Attack vs +20% on Lance of the Hellish Wasteland.
  • Hammer of the Sun and Moon: +25% Infantry Attack vs +20% on Shield of the Eternal Empire.
  • The Hydra's Blast: +25% Archer Defense vs +20% on Dragon's Breath Bow.

Iconic levels are also stronger (1,000 Unit Cap at tier III instead of 800, bigger Furious Strike at tier V). They cost 30M gold instead of 20M and their blueprints are harder to get. You lose the set weapon, so plan a 4 piece set bonus around it.

What is the Garb of the Glorious Goddess set for? (Glorious Goddess, mixed troop gear)

It is the set for mixed or any-troop marches because its stats apply to all troop types instead of one:

  • Scepter: +15% Troop Attack. Helm (Diadem): +8% Troop Attack. Plate: +8% Troop Defense. Chausses: +8% Troop Health. Gauntlets and Greaves: +6% Troop Defense / Health.
  • Set: 2 pieces +3% Troop Defense, 4 pieces +3% Skill Damage Reduction, 6 pieces +5% Troop Health.

Use it on leadership or mixed commanders, garrison leads and rally openers with mixed troops. For a pure cavalry, infantry or archer march, the troop sets give more.

What gear should I use for gathering? (Witch's Wardrobe, Timeless Amber, gathering equipment)

Witch's Wardrobe is the legendary gathering set, crafted only from Animal Bone:

  • Gathering Speed: Staff 15%, Crown 12%, Cloak 12%, Pants 12%, Bracers 8%, Mire-Waders 8%.
  • Set: 2 pieces +25% Troop Load, 4 pieces +5% Extra Resources, 6 pieces +10% March Speed.

Accessories: Timeless Amber (legendary, +15% Gathering Speed) and The Bard's Pendant or Peter's Sickle as epic options.
Put the set on your farming commander only. Since late 2026 Timeless Amber fragments are sold in the Canyon Shop.

What equipment should I use for siege units? (Lupine Vestments, Twilight Epiphany, siege gear)

Siege has its own legendary gear:

  • Twilight Epiphany (weapon): +25% Siege Attack, +6% Siege March Speed.
  • Lupine Vestments set: Fierce Wolf's Helmet, Vigilant Wolf's Leather Armor, Wailing Wolf's Gauntlets, Lone Wolf's Leather Tassets, Roaring Wolf's Claws.
  • Set bonus: 2 pieces +5% Siege Defense, 4 pieces +5% Ranged Skill Damage and +5% Ranged Smite Damage.

It only makes sense if you run a dedicated siege march. Pieces cost 30M gold each and use mixed materials, so build normal troop gear first.

Is Commander EXP gear worth crafting? (The Milky Way, Ash of the Dawn, Ian's Choice, Crimson Ring)

Only briefly. Some older legendary pieces give +5% Commander EXP on top of weak combat stats: The Milky Way, Ash of the Dawn, Ian's Choice and Commander's Boots. Crimson Ring (epic accessory, +15%) and Lohar's Bone Necklace (elite, +10%) do the same.
They help a little while levelling a new commander with tomes, but EXP buffs only count while the gear is equipped, and the materials are better spent on set or KvK pieces. If you already own them, swap them onto the commander you are levelling, then swap back.

Horn of Fury or Karuak's War Drums? (rage accessory, which rage accessory)

For your own march, Horn of Fury. It has a 30% chance to give 50 extra rage to your own troop, so your commanders fire skills sooner.
Karuak's War Drums only has a 10% chance, but gives 50 rage to itself and up to 2 allied troops. It is a team piece: good when you run several of your own marches together or fight in a tight group, weaker for a solo field march.
With a special talent both go to 65 rage. Most players craft Horn of Fury first and add Drums later for a second or third march.

Ring of Doom, Pendant of Eternal Night or Greatest Glory? (damage accessory choice)

Pick by how your commanders deal damage:

  • Ring of Doom: 10% chance to gain 50% bonus damage for a short time. Best on marches with lots of hits (combo, counterattack, fast basic attacks), and the usual partner for Horn of Fury.
  • Pendant of Eternal Night: flat +5% Skill Damage. Best for nukers that win through active skills.
  • Greatest Glory: flat +5% Normal Damage. Good for basic attack and counterattack heavy marches, often infantry.

Special talent raises these to 65%, 6.5% and 6.5%. If unsure, Horn of Fury plus Ring of Doom fits most pairs.

What do the other legendary accessories do? (Immolating Plume, Hero's Hilt, Concealed Dagger, Scolas' Lucky Coin, Mora's Web, Seth's Call, Vengeance, Saddle of a Thousand Blessings)

Base effects (special talent in brackets):

  • Immolating Plume: 50% chance to increase damage by 30% (39%). Specialist pick for ranged and siege setups.
  • Hero's Hilt: 50% chance, 3% combo attack (4%). Combo marches.
  • Saddle of a Thousand Blessings: +3% Smite Damage (4%) and heals part of slight wounds from smite. Smite marches.
  • Concealed Dagger: 30% chance to reduce target Health 5% (6.5%).
  • Mora's Web: 30% chance to cut target Defense 4% and cavalry march speed 8%.
  • Seth's Call: 10% chance for +10% attack.
  • Scolas' Lucky Coin: 10% chance for a shield (damage factor 500).
  • Vengeance: +8% Counterattack Damage.

Most of these are niche; craft Horn of Fury and a damage accessory first.

What cheap accessories can I use before legendary ones? (epic accessories, budget accessory)

Good budget options while you save for legendary accessories:

  • Call of the Loyal (elite): +5% March Speed. Great early for field and gathering.
  • Ancient Stratagems (epic): +3% Unit Capacity, more troops but more in the hospital too.
  • Silent Trial (epic): basic attacks remove 10 rage from the target.
  • Wind Scars (epic): +8% Infantry March Speed.
  • Delane's Amulet (epic): 5% less counterattack damage taken.

They cost 4M to 8M gold and far fewer materials than a 50M legendary, so they are worth it for a second march even later.

Can accessories get Iconic levels? (awaken accessory, accessory iconic)

Yes, legendary accessories can be awakened with Iconic Crystals like legendary gear. All legendary accessories share the same track:

  • I: Troop Base Health (bigger in later KvK seasons)
  • II: +1% Troop Health
  • III: +1.5% Unit Capacity
  • IV: +2% Damage to Rallies and Garrisons
  • V: Divine Might, a 10% chance for a random 5% swing to normal or skill damage dealt or taken

A special talent on the accessory raises each tier. Crystals are scarce, so most players awaken their main weapon and helmet before accessories; tier IV makes accessories more attractive for rally leads.

Can I move equipment between commanders? (swap gear, one set for many commanders)

Yes. Equipment is not bound to a commander: unequip it and put it on another for free, as long as neither commander is out on the map. A piece can only be worn by one commander at a time, so if two marches go out together you need two sets. Special talents follow the piece, so a cavalry talent piece moved to an infantry commander loses its +30%.
There are presets for gear and armaments so you can switch loadouts quickly before a fight.

What equipment should a new player make at City Hall 16? (first equipment set, Epic Age equipment, cheap materials)

Equipment unlocks at City Hall 16 with the Blacksmith (the Epic Age). Do not ignore it: a full set gives a big stat edge early, even if each piece looks small.
Official tip for a fast set: craft blueprints you do not need from side quests, then dismantle them for materials, and use those to build a full set for your main march. Expect to need roughly 30 million Gold, so start stockpiling Gold before City Hall 16.
Spread your investment over the whole set instead of one piece, and tap the question mark next to the equipment slots to see the full set bonus. Mixing green, blue, purple and legendary pieces is fine at first.

Where do I get Saddle of a Thousand Blessings and Hero's Hilt?

Both were added in 1.0.94 (May 2025) as the Legendary smite and combo accessories.

  • Craft them at the Blacksmith.
  • Buy them in the Season of Conquest Combat Shop (Lost Kingdoms that started after the update).
  • They are in the core rewards of Holy Knight's Treasure for Season of Conquest events after the update.

How do I get engineering equipment? (engineering blueprints, Legendary engineering weapon)

Engineering gear is tied to later seasons:

  • The Legendary engineering weapon (added 1.0.81): blueprints from Holy Knight's Treasure and Hunt for History, and fragments from Ceroli Crisis, Golden Kingdom and Ian's Ballads chests, in Season of Conquest kingdoms.
  • Season of Conquest VIP Shop: Random Blueprint Fragment Chest (Engineering), Legendary.
  • Esmeralda's House and Esmeralda's Prayer choice chests include engineering fragments in SoC.
  • Epic engineering blueprints enter Tavern Equipment Chests after the Season 2 Eve of the Crusade.

Do Iconic V equipment skills work with smite and combo damage?

Yes, after two updates:

  • 1.0.84: Shattering Strike on Legendary helms also boosts smite damage.
  • 1.0.91: Shattering Strike (melee) and Shattering Strike (ranged) also boost combo attack damage, Perplexing Ploy and Bewildering Barrage can be triggered by combo damage, and Wily's damage reduction also covers smite and combo damage.

So Iconic V is not wasted on smite or combo commanders.

Why does my Sunset Canyon gear change when I change map gear? (equipment sync)

By default your map equipment setup syncs to Sunset Canyon, Lost Canyon, Canyon Clash, the Sunset Canyon Tournament and Holmgang. Since 1.0.92 there is a toggle for equipment setup sync: turn it off and map changes no longer carry over, and you get a confirmation prompt whenever you change your setup.
You can also save up to 30 equipment loadouts.

How do I get Hammers in Hunt for History? (Archaeological Dig hammers)

Since 1.0.98 (August 2025), the Archaeological Dig gives a fixed number of Hammers for completing event quests instead of finding them randomly. You can also buy Hammers with gems, or the Ample Archaeology bundle, in the Hammer Shop. When you reach a new floor, the floor reward defaults to what you picked on the previous floor of the same type.

Can every legendary piece become Iconic, and do I lose refinement or set bonuses when I awaken it?

Almost every legendary piece can be awakened. The exceptions are the weapon Trial of the Lost Kingdom and gathering equipment.
When you awaken a piece to the next Iconic tier:

  • It keeps its refinement level and special talent.
  • Its attributes get a bonus.
  • Set effects are not affected.

Cost: Iconic I needs Iconic Crystals and gold. Higher tiers need that piece's blueprints, equipment materials and gold. Your kingdom must be in Season 1 or later.

What is leadership equipment for? (mixed troop equipment, leadership gear weak)

Leadership equipment is made for mixed troop marches led by leadership commanders. Its bonuses look weak next to single troop gear because it is meant to complement those commanders, not to be a catch all set for every march.
If your march is all one troop type, use that troop's set instead. Only build leadership gear if you actually run a mixed march, for example a mixed garrison or a leadership rally leader.

Does crafting the same piece again increase my chance of a special talent? (forging special talent chance, recraft for talent)

No. Each craft has the same fixed chance of a special talent, it does not grow with how many times you have crafted that piece. Dismantling and recrafting is a gamble at the same odds every time.
The reliable route is refining: every piece starts at refine level 0 and reaches its special talent at 100, with a chance of a critical refine that adds extra levels. Forge once, and if it misses, refine the piece instead of recrafting it.

Which equipment pieces are limited to Season of Conquest? (restricted equipment, KvK gear season lock)

These pieces were restricted to Season of Conquest to keep earlier KvKs balanced:

  • Weapons: Sacred Dominion, Hammer of the Sun and Moon, The Hydra's Blast
  • Helmets: Pride of the Khan, Helm of the Conqueror, Ancestral Mask of Night
  • Accessories: Scolas' Lucky Coin, Ring of Doom, Greatest Glory, Horn of Fury, Concealed Dagger, Mora's Web, Vengeance

So a young kingdom will not have them in its early KvKs. The game shows which equipment and commanders are restricted in each season on the immigration rules screen, which also matters if you migrate between kingdoms at different stages.
