Công nghệ kinh tế và quân sự, T5 và công nghệ pha lê

Econ tech or military tech first?

Start with a few cheap economy techs: Masonry for building speed and Writing for research speed. Then put most of your time into the military path to unlock T4, because T4 is the biggest early power jump. Fill in the rest of the economy tree after that. You have to max it before T5 anyway.

Which economy techs are worth rushing?

  • Masonry: up to +15% building speed and very cheap.
  • Writing: up to +10% research speed and only a few days of base time.
  • Engineering: up to +35% building speed.
  • Mathematics: up to +15% research speed.

Research speed techs pay off early because every later research gets faster.

How much research speed do Writing and Mathematics give, and what do they need?

Writing maxes at +10% across 5 levels. Mathematics maxes at +15% across 10 levels. Mathematics needs Engineering level 1 to start and Writing 5 for its level 5. Its last level needs Academy 21. Together they give +25% research speed.

How does research speed actually work? Does 100% speed halve the time?

Yes. The base timer is divided by 1 plus your total research speed bonus, so +100% halves it and +50% cuts it by a third. All your sources add together first: Academy, techs, VIP, civilization, titles, runes and alliance buffs. Alliance helps then come off what is left.

What are all the research speed buffs I can stack?

  • Academy level, which grows as you upgrade it
  • Writing and Mathematics techs
  • VIP level, with research speed added at several VIP tiers
  • Civilization: Korea has a research speed bonus
  • A research speed title from the king
  • Runes and holy site or altar buffs your alliance holds
  • Alliance helps on every research

Turn on the temporary ones before you dump speedups.

How much research speed does the Academy itself give?

The Academy gives a research speed bonus that grows with its level. It's small early on and much bigger near the top. At level 25 it's around +25%, and the last upgrade alone adds a big chunk. That's one reason players push Academy 25 before going hard on research speedups.

How do alliance helps reduce research time?

Each help takes off 1% of the remaining time or 3 minutes, whichever is bigger. Your alliance center level sets how many helps you can get, up to 30 at max. On a long research that can cut several days, so always ask for help right after you start. An active alliance makes a real difference over months.

What do I need to unlock T4?

Each T4 needs Cartography level 3. Cartography itself needs Combat Tactics, Defensive Formation and Herbal Medicine at certain levels, plus Pathfinding 5. The T4 unlock research needs Academy 21. Infantry, cavalry and archer each cost about 30 days of base time, and siege takes about 45. Each also costs 5M food, 5M wood, 3.75M stone and 5M gold before buffs.

What is the full path to T5?

  • Max the economy tree: Combined Arms 10 needs Carriage 10 and Cutting & Polishing 10, which pull in basically everything.
  • Combat Tactics, Defensive Formation and Herbal Medicine to 10, and Cartography to 5.
  • Your troop's attack tech to 10, then its defense tech to 10. For example Wootz Steel then Scutum for infantry, or Stirrups then Plate Armor for cavalry.
  • Combined Arms 10 and Encampment 10, then Medical Corps 10.
  • Academy 25, then the T5 unlock itself.

How long does the T5 unlock research itself take, and what does it cost?

Infantry, cavalry and archer T5 each take 108 days of base time. Trebuchet takes about 162 days. Each costs 10M food, 10M wood, 7.5M stone and 10M gold. Your research buffs shorten the timer, but on top of everything before it, it is still a big speedup dump.

How many speedups do I need for T5 from scratch?

Everything on the way to the first T5 adds up to well over 3,500 days of base research time. Your buffs cut that a lot, but you still need thousands of days of research and universal speedups together. A whale-built account gets there in months, while F2P usually takes a year or more. It depends on your buffs, events and how much of the tree you already have.

Which T5 should I get first?

Get the T5 for your main march type, the one your best commanders lead. Most players pick cavalry or infantry. Siege is the usual last pick because it takes the longest and sees the least use. Unlocking a second type doesn't need much more beyond its own attack and defense techs plus its unlock.

Do I need every building at 25 for T5?

You need Academy 25, and the Academy is one of the last buildings you can take to 25. In practice that means most of your city is already at 25. Upgrading the City Hall and Castle eats a lot of blueprint-type items, and the Castle needs Books of Covenant, so plan those early. Keep only one copy of resource buildings and hospitals at 25 if you're short on resources.

Should I use speedups on research before Academy 25?

Many players save research and universal speedups for after Academy 25. That way they get the bigger Academy bonus and can put everything into T5-path techs. Below that, use speedups mainly to rush T4 and power events. Don't spend universal speedups on building or healing if you can avoid it.

When is the best time to dump research speedups?

Stack every temporary buff first: a research rune, a title, holy sites, and an active alliance help pool. Then time the dump with events that score research or tech power, like the technology stage of power events and research quests in KvK. Start a long research, buff it, and only then finish it with speedups.

After T4, which military techs give the most value?

Go for the all-troop stat lines first. Combat Tactics gives up to +15% attack. Combined Arms, Encampment and Medical Corps each give up to +25% all attack, defense or health. Then max attack and defense for your main troop type, which go up to +20% each. Leave siege and side troop types for last.

Can I research while my Academy is upgrading?

No. An Academy upgrade blocks research until it finishes, so time Academy upgrades between long researches, or use speedups to finish the upgrade fast. Before a big upgrade, start a long research if you can't afford to keep the queue empty.

What is crystal tech in KvK and does it carry over?

In the Season of Conquest Lost Kingdom you get a Crystal Mine and a Crystal Technology Center. You spend crystals there on season-only techs that boost economy, march and combat. When the season ends, the buildings, crystals and all crystal tech are gone. Completing crystal techs also earns season coins for the season shop.

How do I get more crystals?

  • Upgrade the Crystal Mine early, since its level sets your hourly output.
  • Do the daily Bastion quests, which give crystals and favor and raise mine speed as favor levels up.
  • Kill Kahar the Hidden with the bone whistle item, which gives a big fixed crystal drop.
  • Farm barbarians, forts and caves in the Lost Kingdom, and claim alliance crystal fields.
  • Do the Trial of Kau Karuak.

What crystal tech should I research first?

Start with the economy side: crystal production and Kahar yield techs, march speed and camp capacity. That way every crystal after it comes in faster. Next take the first tier of attack techs for all your troop types. Once your income is set, put the rest into the combat line for your main troop type, unless you're mostly farming.

Is the Korea civilization worth it for research?

Korea is the civ with a research speed bonus, so it helps a pure tech rush. The bonus is small next to Academy, techs and VIP, though. Most players should pick their civ for commanders and troop bonuses and treat research speed as a side benefit. You can change civilization later with an item.

How do I unlock T5 troops?

You need City Hall 25 and Academy 25, then a separate unlock research for each troop type at the very end of the Military tree.

  • Each T5 node needs Medical Corps at level 10, plus that type's armor node at level 10: Scutum (infantry), Pavise (archer), Plate Armor (cavalry) or Heavy Frame (siege).
  • Medical Corps 10 needs Combined Arms 10 and Encampment 10. Combined Arms 10 needs Carriage 10 and Cutting & Polishing 10 from the Economy tree.
  • Earlier gates: Combat Tactics, Defensive Formation and Herbal Medicine at 10, then Cartography.
  • Cost per T5 unlock: 10M food, 10M wood, 7.5M stone and 10M gold. Base time is 108 days for infantry, archers or cavalry and 162 days for siege, before research speed buffs.
  • Getting the Academy to 25 also needs Castle 25 and your other buildings maxed.

How long does it take to max the military research tree? (full military tech, all military research time)

Very long. Added up from the game tables, the whole Academy military tree is about 5,500 days of research at base speed, while the economy tree is about 445 days. The heavy hitters are the final stat techs at Academy 23 to 25: Combined Arms, Encampment and Medical Corps (all troops attack, defense, health +25% each) at about 460 base days each, and the troop-specific 20% techs. Your research speed cuts these down a lot, but you still cannot max everything, so pick the techs for the troop type you actually fight with and skip the others.

What do Combat Tactics, Defensive Formation and Herbal Medicine give? (all troop attack defense health research)

They are the mid-tree all-troops techs: Combat Tactics +15% attack, Defensive Formation +15% defense, Herbal Medicine +15% health, 10 levels each, needed at Academy 16 to 20. Each takes about 384 days at base speed, so they are long but affect every troop type. They also gate Cartography and later the T4 path. Later in the tree, Combined Arms, Encampment and Medical Corps give +25% more of the same, the best value military research for anyone who fights with more than one troop type.

Which research gives march speed and troop load? (Pathfinding, Cartography, Wheel, Carriage)

  • March speed: Pathfinding (+15%) and Cartography (+15%) in the military tree. Both are cheap compared with the stat techs and worth doing early, they help in every fight and gather run.
  • Troop load (how much a march carries when gathering): Wheel (+5%) and Carriage (+25%) in the economy tree. Carriage is long, about 63 days at base speed, so only rush it if you gather a lot.

In KvK, crystal tech adds troop-type march speed on top (Swift Marching, Fleet of Foot, Swift Steeds, Reinforced Axles).

What do Call To Arms, Leadership and Larger Camps do in crystal tech? (KvK capacity techs)

  • Call To Arms I (+15%) and Call To Arms II (+35%): Unit Capacity, every one of your marches gets bigger. The core fighting tech for most players.
  • Leadership I (+15%) and Leadership II (+35%): Rallied Army Capacity, only matters if you lead rallies.
  • Larger Camps (+100%): Reinforcement Capacity, how many allied troops your city can hold. Good for garrison players.

If you just fight in the field, Call To Arms first. Rally leaders add Leadership early.

What do Expanded Formations, Rapid Retreat, Runecraft and Surprise Strike do? (crystal tech ability unlocks)

  • Expanded Formations I and II: +1 troop dispatch limit each, so up to 2 extra marches for the season.
  • Rapid Retreat: lets you spend 80 gems per march to instantly return defeated troops to your city.
  • Runecraft: lets you summon a rune of your choice.
  • Surprise Strike: up to +25% damage from your field troops against enemy rallies and garrisons in the Lost Kingdom.

They are expensive: Expanded Formations II and Surprise Strike sit at the end of the tree and take weeks of research at base speed.

Which crystal techs help with healing and hospital space? (Special Concoctions, Emergency Support)

  • Special Concoctions I (-15%) and Special Concoctions II (-25%): healing cost reduction, so healing wounded troops costs fewer resources.
  • Emergency Support (+30%): hospital capacity, more troops wounded instead of killed.

For anyone who fights a lot in KvK, these save more resources than most stat techs. Emergency Support has no prerequisites in the tree, so you can start it early if your hospital overflows.

How much does the crystal tech troop-type line give in total? (Starmetal, Expert, Iron Infantry crystal tech stats)

Per troop type, the full line adds:

  • Attack: 5% (tier I) + 7.5% (tier II)
  • Defense: 15% (Starmetal Shields / Bracers / Barding / Axles)
  • Health: 15% (Iron Infantry, Archer's Focus, Rider's Resilience, Siege Provisions)
  • Expert tech: 10% damage reduction and damage bonus
  • March speed: 5% + 10% + 15%

Only research your main troop type's line. Spreading crystals across all four types makes you weaker in every one.

How do I get Masonry for free from villages? (Masonry 15% building speed, village research)

Tribal villages you discover in the fog can hand out research levels for free, but only if your Academy is high enough for that level. For Masonry:

  • Academy 6: Masonry level 2
  • Academy 7: level 3
  • Academy 8: level 4
  • Academy 9: level 5 (max)

Maxed Masonry is +15% building speed, three times China's 5%. Once Masonry is maxed, the speedups you have saved should carry City Hall to 10. Some early gathering technologies can also come from villages, so explore before researching them yourself.
