Dreams of the Dragon

Firecrackers send off the old as gods carved from peach wood welcome in the new. I sip my tusu wine slowly, taking in the revelry around me.
A flying dragon chases after a pearl, twisting and turning through painted pillars engraved with hundreds of years of blessings. I see lantern lights cutting through the night and stars falling upon the lake. I hear songs of joy and prayers for a better future. Another year has passed, a year I will never get back, another sand from my hourglass. Tomorrow, I will worry about the paths I failed to follow and the challenges yet to come, but tonight, there is only now.
