Reign of Rime

In the ever-frozen capital of a dead empire, this lone light shines above the empty streets and silent homes.
Faced with an invasion he could not hope to resist, the gentle-hearted emperor wielded forbidden magicks of rime and frost to save his beloved people. Freezing them in place and time, he bought them everlasting peace. The price: his eternal solitude.
As his people shivered and huddled together, they drifted off into a cozy, unending slumber - they say it's warmest right before the frost takes you. They would never again see the spring, and the emperor would never again smile.
What do they dream of, do you think? In a place this cold, it's hard to imagine even dreamland escaping the eternal winter.
