Persian Dream

A gilded, glazed statue with a blue crown, the bestial deity who guards the gates of the world of men. Day after day it looks down upon the Gate of All Nations, receiving the prayers and worship of its servant, the king of Persia. Until Alexander the Great led his forces to Persepolis and put the city's glorious monument to the torch. As the sun set on the dream of Persepolis, its legacy was cemented in the hearts and minds of authors and historians forevermore.
