Admin

Server settings: Bot Admin role, log channel, language and an overview.

What it does

Sets the Bot Admin role, so officers without Manage Server can run admin commands.

Sets the log channel, where the bot reports problems such as a lost permission or a deleted channel.

Sets the server language for everything the bot posts for everyone: panels, boards, reminders and signups. Replies to one person still follow that person's own Discord language.

When to use it

Right after you add the bot, and whenever your officer team changes.

Who

Admins only: members with Administrator, Manage Server or the Bot Admin role.

Where

Any channel the bot can see.

Subcommands

Type the command, then pick one of these. Each has its own options.

/config view

A private overview of this server's RokHub settings, with a button to the dashboard.

/config admin-role

Lets a role run admin commands without Manage Server.

  • role Optional role

    The role. Leave it empty to remove the Bot Admin role.

/config log-channel

Where the bot reports problems.

  • channel Optional channel

    A text channel. Leave it empty to remove it.

/config language

The language for posts everyone in this server reads.

  • language Required pick from a list

    One of the 18 languages RokHub speaks, listed in its own name, for example Deutsch or Español.

Examples

Copy one, paste it in Discord and change the values. Under each is what the bot answers.

/config view

Tips and mistakes

Tips

  • Discord hides admin commands from members without Manage Server. To show them to your Bot Admin role too, open Server Settings, Integrations, RokHub and allow that role.
  • Pick a log channel only leadership can read. The bot posts there when something stops working, so you hear about it before members do.

Common mistakes

  • Running admin-role with the role left empty removes the Bot Admin role. That is on purpose, so check the option before you press Enter.
