/reminder

Ancient Ruins, Altar of Darkness and custom reminders that ping on time.

What it does

Sets up Ancient Ruins or Altar of Darkness reminders for KvK. The bot creates a reminder role, posts a role menu so members opt in, and pings before every opening.

Sets up custom reminders: one time or repeating, with an optional role to ping and your own text, for things like the VIP shop reset.

Every time you type is in UTC, game time, written as HH:MM DD/MM/YYYY: the time first, then the date.

When to use it

At the start of KvK for Ruins and Altar, and any time for your own repeating reminders.

Who can use it

Who

Admins only: members with Administrator, Manage Server or the Bot Admin role.

Where

Any channel the bot can see.

Subcommands

Type the command, then pick one of these. Each has its own options.

/reminder setup

Ancient Ruins or Altar of Darkness reminders.

  • channel Required channel

    Where reminders are sent.

  • reminder_type Required pick from a list

    Which event.

  • first_instance Required text

    First opening, HH:MM DD/MM/YYYY in UTC.

  • last_instance Required text

    Last opening to remind for, HH:MM DD/MM/YYYY in UTC.

  • reminder_1_hour Optional True or False

    Remind 1 hour before.

  • reminder_4_hour Optional True or False

    Remind 4 hours before. Used when nothing else is picked.

  • reminder_8_hour Optional True or False

    Remind 8 hours before.

  • custom_intervals Optional text

    A comma list like 1d, 4h, now. Now means at the start. Replaces the three toggles.

  • discord_events Optional True or False

    Create a Discord event for each opening. Needs Manage Events.

  • repeat_interval Optional text

    Time between openings if your KvK differs.

    Default: Ruins 39h, Altar 84h

/reminder custom

A custom one time or repeating reminder. Up to 25 per server.

  • title Required text

    What it is, for example VIP Shop Reset.

  • channel Required channel

    Where reminders are sent.

  • first_instance Required text

    First time, HH:MM DD/MM/YYYY in UTC.

  • repeat_interval Required text

    How often it repeats, for example 1d or 40h. 0 means one time.

  • last_instance Required text

    When to stop, HH:MM DD/MM/YYYY, or 0 or never.

  • role_to_ping Optional role

    Role to ping.

  • reminder_1_hour Optional True or False

    Remind 1 hour before.

    Default: Yes

  • reminder_4_hour Optional True or False

    Remind 4 hours before.

  • reminder_8_hour Optional True or False

    Remind 8 hours before.

  • custom_intervals Optional text

    A comma list like 1d, 4h, now. Replaces the toggles.

  • discord_events Optional True or False

    Create a Discord event for each time.

  • event_length Optional text

    Event length, for example 1h or 30m. Needed with discord_events.

  • message Optional text

    Extra text under each ping.

/reminder list

Every active reminder, five per page. Only you see it.

/reminder deactivate

Turns Ancient Ruins or Altar of Darkness reminders off and removes their messages.

  • reminder_type Required pick from a list

    Which event.

  • keep_roles Required True or False

    Keep the reminder roles for later.

/reminder delete

Deletes a custom reminder.

  • reminder_id Required type and pick a suggestion

    The ID from /reminder list. Suggestions show your custom reminders.

Examples

Copy one, paste it in Discord and change the values. Under each is what the bot answers.

/reminder list

A private list of every active reminder, with page buttons when there are more than five.

/reminder delete reminder_id: 3

Tips and mistakes

Tips

  • Ancient Ruins open every 39 hours and the Altar of Darkness every 84 hours by default. If your KvK uses other timers, set repeat_interval.
  • custom_intervals like 1d, 4h, now pings a day before, four hours before and at the start.

Common mistakes

  • The time comes first, then the date: 20:00 25/12/2026. The other way round is read too, but 25/12/2026 alone is not.
  • Only one Ruins and one Altar reminder can be active. Deactivate the old one before a new setup.
  • Custom reminders with every ping turned off never ping. Keep at least one.
  • /reminder delete is for custom reminders. For Ruins and Altar use /reminder deactivate.
