Docs Guide

Events and reminders

A calendar post that updates itself, event guides, and reminders for Ruins, Altar and anything on a timer.

Post the event calendar

  1. 1

Create a channel such as #event-calendar where only admins can write.

  2. 2

Run /calendar setup channel: #event-calendar create_discord_events: True. Choose False if the bot does not have Manage Events.

  3. 3

For exact Egg and Hammer dates, also fill last_event and last_egg_pattern with the egg or hammer happening now or next.

  4. 4

The bot posts the tracker and creates one role per event. It edits the post every day by itself.

Let members pick their pings

  1. 1

Tell members to press Pick up Reminder Roles under the tracker.

  2. 2

Each member picks the events they care about. Only they see the menu.

  3. 3

The bot pings each role on time: MGE and More Than Gems a day ahead, gem events 12 hours ahead, the rest at the start.

Explain an event

  1. 1

Make sure Event Info (or All Commands) has a channel: /channel add group: Event Info channel: #bot-commands.

  2. 2

Run /event and pick an event from the suggestions.

  3. 3

Pick Gem events compared to see where gems go furthest.

Ancient Ruins and Altar of Darkness

All times are UTC, game time. Write them as HH:MM DD/MM/YYYY, the time first.

  1. 1

Find the first opening time in game.

  2. 2

    Run /reminder setup channel: #reminders reminder_type: Ancient Ruins first_instance: 12:00 01/07/2026 last_instance: 12:00 01/07/2027.

  3. 3

Pick when to ping with reminder_1_hour, reminder_4_hour and reminder_8_hour, or custom_intervals like 1d, 4h, now. With nothing picked, it pings 4 hours before.

  4. 4

The bot creates a reminder role and posts a role menu. Members opt in there.

  5. 5

Repeat for the Altar of Darkness.

Ruins open every 39 hours and the Altar every 84 hours. If your KvK differs, set repeat_interval.

Your own reminders

  1. 1

Run /reminder custom with a title, a channel, the first time and how often it repeats, for example 1d. Use 0 for a one time reminder.

  2. 2

Set last_instance to never if it should keep going.

  3. 3

Add role_to_ping and message if you want. It pings 1 hour before unless you change it.

  4. 4

See them all with /reminder list, and delete one with /reminder delete.

Up to 25 custom reminders per server. The Reminders page on the dashboard has a form with a ping preview.
